Head of Drivers / Mechanic

Core Points

Coordinating and controlling the operation of vehicles in Peshawar according to traffic regulations and MSF security rules and ensuring that the team of drivers perform properly their duties to ensure an adequate, efficient and safe transport of goods and people, responsible for the fleet maintenance including generators and appropriate use and maintenance of MSF vehicles, in accordance with MSF rules, standards and protocols in order to have the vehicles in optimal running conditions.

Responsibilities

Supervising the team of drivers and monitoring and evaluating their performance, ensuring compliance with all rules, safety regulations and MSF instructions, as well as the maintenance and service of their assigned vehicles which includes preparing and overseeing the drivers' work schedule, ensuring daily and weekly checks of vehicles and the correct filling in of administration and vehicle logbook.

Performing monthly checks of the vehicle inventory, documentation and first aid kit together with the Log base. Performing regular drivers' assessments.

Coordinating and supervising the drivers and fleet management to ensure adequate service in terms of organizing availability of drivers, vehicles to drive, duty rosters and replacements in case of absence, and fuel control. Preparing monthly roster for drivers.

Checking and ensuring that safety procedures are met in vehicles to ensure that transportation is in the best conditions of safety for travelers as well as ensuring that all cars have the required papers and the necessary materials and equipment such as tools, emergency box, mobile, spare parts (road-books, triangle, fire extinguisher, road triangle, spare oil, coolant, map, insurance driver licenses, matriculation..)

MSF-France / Peshawar Specific Accountabilities

Responsible for planning and organizing the weekly check-up and service of the vehicles and generators according to MSF policies and procedures. After every service, repair and check-up, completing the necessary documents, such as logbook, check-up sheet and monthly report.

Ensure that fleet maintenance board is updated in line with Kilometer and service done etc.

Tracking the consumption and condition of products dedicated to MSF vehicles and generator. Using materials according to MSF policies and procedures and in collaboration with the Base Logisticians, preparing the monthly Order.
