Job Description

ASSIGNMENT AND KEY ACTIVITIES

1. Appearance and participation at work:

· Must observe the MSF charter.

· Carry out all activity in line with the MSF protocols and procedures.

· Value time schedule

· Treat the patient with good quality care.

· must consider patient privacy

· Maintenance of worthy relationship with other team members.

· Follow to MSF Clinical Guidelines and protocols.

2. Pre-operative consultation

- By checking all the respect of medical privacy and providing patients with information on their illnesses and treatments.

- Before they undergo surgery carrying out the patients’ pre-operative consultations.

- Determining on the type of anesthetics to be used.

- Carrying out the necessary resuscitation maneuvers.

- Evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the gynecologist/surgeon.

- Must confirm that patients have given signed authorization for their operations.

3. Anesthesia

- Must prepare the drugs, material and equipment required for administering the anesthetics.

- Managing the anesthetics according to the techniques chosen beforehand

- One-to-one care patients throughout their interventions.

4. Instant post-operative scrutiny (recovery room)

- Confirming the immediate recovery of patients.

- Relocating patients to and installing them in the recovery room.

- Assessing patients’ pain

- setting up a protocol of post-operative pain relief in accordance with MSF guidelines.

- Depiction of post-operative prescriptions in association with gynecologist/surgeon.

5. Post-operative caution

- Make sure a joint round with the gynecologist/surgeon twice a day.

- Recommencing prescriptions, checking they are followed.

6. Intensive care

- Must provide post-operative follow up of surgical patients present in the facility

- Carry out the qualified medical care of critical patients.

7. Cleanliness

- In collaboration with OT Nurse and Head Nurse checking that rules of hygiene concerning the protection of patients and personnel are followed.

- Make sure that Universal protections are followed.

8. Pharmaceutical material

- Setting up by monitoring the stock of anesthesia material.

- Make sure to supervise the hygiene

- Confirming that the anesthetics station is neatened, cleaned and re-stocked among each patient.

9. Furthermore

- Joining in personnel meetings.

- Keeping fit vigilance

- informing direct supervisor in the event of medical error.

- Joining in surgical-anesthesia data collection

- drawing up monthly report.

- Work together with other departments in the hospital
