Senior Java Developer

The Division:

Gallery Systems, a division of Constellation Software Inc., has been providing collections management software and web publishing solutions to the finest cultural institutions throughout the world for over 30 years. Gallery Systems clients include many of the worlds most important museums, corporate and government archives, and private collectors.

The Position:

The division is looking for a Senior Java Developer to work out of the Contour Software Lahore office, working as part of the resource-center team, as an extension of the onshore R&D team, located onshore.

Following will be part of this job;

• Design, implement, and maintain web applications and infrastructure components

• Code highly efficient and scalable software

• Refactor and improve maintainability of the codebase

• Solve complex scalability, platform, and integration problems

• Learn new paradigms, languages, and libraries; determine practical strategies for integrating these into our technology stack

Required Experience & skills:

• University degree in Computer Science or related discipline

• 5 - 12 years of experience developing and maintaining web applications

• Excellent knowledge and experience with Java

• Experience with SOLR and Spring

• Understanding of JSON, XML, XSD, XSL

• Experience developing and maintaining RESTful Web Services

• Experience working with relational databases: SQL Server and/or Oracle

• Experience working with a version control system, e.g. Subversion

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We would love to see:

• Knowledge of build automation tools: Maven, Gradle, etc.

• Knowledge of message brokers, e.g. ActiveMQ

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery tools such as Jenkins

• Experience with application build tools, such as Bitrock InstallBuilder, InstallShield, etc.
